Solar Lights: Get What You Want, Get What You Need

!±8± Solar Lights: Get What You Want, Get What You Need

It's been said that you can't always get what you want, but that you get what you need.

With a little planning, knowledge of what solar lights are available, and simple maintenance, solar lights will give you both what you want and what you need.

No matter what type of product, from cars to solar accent lights, wise buying decisions, proper use and a little use maintenance means you'll get the most out of what you buy.

While it's true that placing solar lights is pretty simple and they are low-maintenance, there are things to do to make sure you get what you want from them.

Like many evolving technologies, solar lighting is definitely one where you get what you pay for in terms of appearance, reliability, product lifespan, and light quality.

But, you need to understand the different types of solar lights that are available. For example, the illumination from an accent solar light is far different from light emitted from solar lamps. spotlights or floodlights.

Figure Out What You Want and Need

Whether you're adding some solar lights to your property for accent purposes or safety, you'll want to determine the style of and quantity of fixtures you need.

Think about the function or purpose the solar light will serve. It's often helpful to draw a rough outline of your property, noting where existing lights are and where new illumination is necessary.

It doesn't have to be fancy, just make sure you note things like decks, paths, stairs, patios, walkways, shrubbery and garden beds. The diagram should include things that cast shadows for large portions of the day such as fences, houses, or trees.

On your plan, pencil in strong existing light sources, such as street lights, as solar lights only turn on only when they detect darkness. If you put solar accent lights, for example, in an area that is already lit by another stronger source, odds are they won't turn on at night.

Think about what things you want to highlight, where you want solar lights to illuminate walkways, steps or stairs or areas where you need additional light for safety, or secluded areas without electricity that you want lighting for security purposes. A good trick you may find helpful is to walk around your home in the early evening and use a flash light to see how positioning the light in different ways produces different results.

This can help you plan the location and types of solar lighting fixtures you need, especially if you want lots of lights or if you're buying or building a new residence. And, more and more, people are choosing to get rid of their conventional electric lights and use solar lighting as fixtures age, to lower use their electricity bills, and to help the environment.

Read and Save Instructions that Come with New Solar Lights

Yes, it usually looks simple, but assembling solar lights in a rush or incorrectly may break them and void the warranty. Taking a few minutes to review the instructions when you first open the package will save you time in the long run.

Carefully read the instruction before assembling or installing solar fixtures. You should also save the directions for down the road in two years or so when the rechargeable batteries will probably need replacement.

Charge Solar Fixtures in the Sun for 2 Days before Use

Solar lights should be charged in sun for 2 days before use.

So, if you get your lights on a Saturday and put them in the sun on Sunday and take them inside or shut them off on Sunday night. Leave them "on" or outside on Monday and by Monday night they'll be good to go without undue strain on the batteries.

Can you get away with less of an initial charge for the fixture and its batteries? Yes, but you're causing unnecessary strain on the batteries that may lessen their effectiveness down the road or shorten the two-year life cycle of most rechargeable batteries used in solar lights.

Mount Solar Panels in Sunny Places

Seems obvious, but you'd be surprised what people thing could work.

Solar panels need to be placed where they will receive the maximum sunlight throughout the day. Shadows cast by houses, trees and other structures move and lengthen during the day. Six hours of sunlight generally is enough for a "full-charge."

Too much shade and your solar light will be less efficient or not work at all. A properly positioned panel often means satisfaction or disappointment about how your solar lights perform. And, the fewer obstructions between the sun and your solar panel, the better your solar lights will perform.

Even "amorphous solar panels," those that work during cloudy or rainy days, need to be placed in an area with some sunshine.

Does this mean that if your property has a lot of shade solar lights won't work for you? No, because many solar lights have cords between the solar panel and the lighting fixture itself.

If you want to put solar accent lights in a shady area, there are newer models of solar fixtures that you place the light in a shady area and the solar panel in a nearby area of sun. This has long been standard for solar floodlights, spotlights and shed lights, but recently is being designed into newer solar accent and accent spotlights.

Cords between the solar panel and lighting fixture are usually standard for solar spotlights, floodlights and shed lights that can light the inside of outdoor structures such as sheds, barns, carports, porches, or greenhouses.

Solar water pumps, solar fountains and combination solar bird baths/water fountains usually come with cables between the solar fixture and the solar panel to give you flexibility. It should be noted that most solar fountains require steady sunshine, because there is no "idle time" for the battery to store power.

Solar pumps such as those for ponds, waterfalls or other outdoor water features you wish to create or enhance aren't as dependent on strong sun as stand-alone fountains, because they usually have larger solar panels and larger, stronger batteries. Because most water pumps also come cords between the fixture and the solar panel, this hardware can be hidden or located several feet from the pump.

Quick Trouble-Shooting/Easy Fixes

If your solar lighting fixture does not come on at dusk and you have followed the above tips, try the following:

Make sure that the solar lights are not impacted by another light source (such as a bright electric street light), as solar lights have a sensor that makes them light up on at dusk. Check that the solar panel is not in the shade for a large portion of the day. Even "amorphous" solar panels that work on cloudy or rainy days need sun now and again. Make sure the solar lights' switches are in the "ON" position, if they have one. Double-check that the batteries are installed correctly. This is easiest to do by double-checking the instructions that came with your solar lighting product. If they're the correct batteries and installed properly, they may need to be replaced.

Seasonal Tips for Spring and Fall

In the spring and fall, make sure that solar panels are clear of falling leaves or other blowing debris.

You should also take care when raking or leaf blowers do not damage any solar lights or solar panels. Many people take solar accent lights in during fall clean-up and place them back outside during the spring, especially if they hire other people to do yard work.

When pollen counts are high, you'll want to occasionally clean the solar panels so that they are a thick layer of pollen doesn't impeded the solar panels ability to absorb the sun's energy. If you live in an area that has a lot of dust, you'll want to watch for dust build-up as well.

In the spring, it's a good idea to check-out of solar lights, both the ones taken in during the winter and those that stay out year-round. And if you do store fixture, make sure that you remove the batteries and carefully mark which batteries go with what fixtures.

For fixtures that stay out year-round (spotlights, floodlights or solar lamps), spring's a good time to make sure the batteries work, and to check the fixture for any damage caused by ice or hail, such as minor crack.

If you see any damage and the lights still work, you can minimize any potential damage by using clear caulk to cover any cracks. After you change batteries, you may also want to put some clear caulk over the areas that were separated when the batteries were removed. While it's unlikely changing the batter properly would allow moisture into high quality fixtures, the caulk can offer some reassurance.

Spring is also a good time to clean solar panels with a cloth or cotton ball dampened with alcohol or vinegar. Glass and plastic panes for solar lights can be cleaned with any glass cleaner. It also helps to use a VERY small amount of oil on any metal fixtures, just make sure the oil doesn't get on the solar panels, the fixture's panes, or any plastic parts. Most non-vegetable based oils can damage plastic or rubber materials.

Tips for the Winter

As much as you can, keep snow and ice off of solar panels. If solar lights or solar panels get buried, charge them in strong sun for at least 6 hours before using them again to get maximum performance with least wear and tear on the solar components.

Snow plows, shovels and snow blowers also can damage solar fixtures and panels. Because you (or whoever clears the snow) can't see them, it's easy to do. If you leave solar lights out year-round and know a storm is coming, you might want to take a stick and mark where the lights are to avoid damage.

All solar fountains, pumps and other water feature should be taken inside during subfreezing temperatures to protect against damage caused as the freezing water expands. This is true of all water features, not just those powered by solar.

Try and You'll Get What You Need

When you plan your lighting and buy the proper solar lights to meet your needs, take care when assembling them, and taking a little time for maintenance throughout the year, you'll get top performance from them year-round.

Getting to Know How Halogen Light Bulbs Work

!±8± Getting to Know How Halogen Light Bulbs Work

Halogen light bulbs work in similar ways as the typical electric bulb does but there are notable differences. Normally, those electric light bulbs you see at home has glass envelope that is thin and frosted. This encloses an inert gas like argon or nitrogen. One would see the burning filament at the center of the lamp or bulb. This is called tungsten. It is a thin metallic wire with a very high melting point, making it ideal to be used in bulbs as it glows at extremely high temperatures that reach 2,500°C without melting or getting burnt. The thin filament offers particularly high resistance so when electric current passes by the filament heat build up and the thin wire glows. That is how bulbs glow bright. This process is called incandescence. Another type of electric bulb at home is fluorescent bulb and this one glows in a different fashion but this will not be discussed here.

The matter with ordinary electric bulbs is their low efficiency. Most of them last no more than 1000 hours during typical usage. Electric bulbs convert electrical energy into heat and light, but ordinary bulbs convert much of the electricity to heat. That is why you feel hot near an incandescent lamp because of the heat radiated in all directions. This radiant heat is basically infrared radiation and this is a particularly waste energy. It is like one pays for an electric bulb and gets home with a central heating unit that emits light. This specific inefficiency makes these bulbs not quite practical in the long run. They burn out fast as the tungsten wire filament vaporizes in intense heat. This loss of tungsten causes the filament to run thin within a short time until it all burns out and the light bulb gets busted.

There is another kind of incandescent lamp but is more sophisticated and lasts much longer than ordinary ones. These are called halogen light bulbs and they are an exceptional kind of bulb. Like typical incandescent bulbs, they have tungsten filament which burns and glows hot as electricity passes through it. However, unlike the electric bulb in your toilet or garage made of incandescent bulb, the tungsten filament of a halogen lamp is enclosed in a quartz glass and this quartz enclosure locks in a halogen gas. The quartz encloses the filament rather closely, at which distance ordinary glass would get exposed to extreme heat of the glowing filament and melt. The halogen gas that surround the filament has properties that make the tungsten filament last longer. Ordinary electric bulbs use argon or nitrogen and these are relatively non-reactive gases. Has oxygen been used the tungsten would burn out extremely fast.

In the case of halogen bulbs, the presence of a halogen gas allows chemical combination to occur between it and the hot tungsten. The halogen gas atoms (e.g. iodine or bromine gas) combine with tungsten vapor atoms. In ordinary incandescent bulbs, tungsten vapor atoms are deposited onto the glass surface and this causes darkening of the inner surface of the glass. This does not normally occur in halogen lamps because instead of being deposited onto quartz glass inner surface, the tungsten atoms are captured by the halogen gas atoms and chemically combine with them. Soon, the tungsten atoms are then deposited again onto the tungsten filament. This cycle allows longer life span of the filament.

Halogen bulbs can also burn at much higher temperatures and this means they can even be brighter than non-halogen incandescent lamps. The efficacy and efficiency of halogen bulbs makes them ideal for a larger array of purposes. The quality of light is also better than that of ordinary incandescent lamps.

Pet-Friendly Home Decor

!±8± Pet-Friendly Home Decor

Pet owners face a unique challenge when it comes to home decorating. Besides the obvious problems like scratching furniture or knocking over vases, there's also the constant abuse they put on your floors, carpets, walls and upholstery. Many just give up on decorating altogether and get dull pieces, so they don't feel too bad about it when the dog starts gnawing on them. But having a pet doesn't always mean giving up style.

The first thing you need to consider is your flooring. Dogs and cats spend a lot of time on the floor, whether walking around, curled up, or playing with the kids. Your best bet is to choose a sturdy, low-maintenance floor such as tile or marble. But if you already have flooring installed, or if you're not up to installing new floors, you can simply lay out a rug or carpet to protect the surface.

Of course, the coverings themselves have to be pet-friendly as well. Carpets and area rugs tend to gather the hairs when animals shed, so they'll need regular vacuuming to keep them clean. If you let the pets sit or play on the rug, get one that's easy to maintain and clean. A patterned area rug can help camouflage mud stains-you'll have to get it out eventually, of course, but the pattern can hide it until you have time to do the job.

Your furniture should be made to withstand pet play as well. If you have a wooden chair or bench, make sure it's properly sealed. You can usually find an anti-scratch coat from the hardware store; just ask for one that's non-toxic and safe to use on furniture. Protect your upholstery buy getting slipcovers-just drape them over the furniture and your pet can get on anytime.

Finally, consider the layout of your home. If you have anything breakable, such as a vase or a shelf with a glass door, keep it flushed to the walls. This will make it less likely to fall over when your pet gets a little rough. Identify your pet's favorite playing areas and design it so that nothing breaks, and give him his own toys to play with so they don't grab anything delicate.

The first advice in the choice of a lamp refers to the size. You should consider the relationship between the dimensions of space and the size of the chandelier. AChandelier that is too small for a space will be considered in isolation. On the other hand, is that it is too big for a room appear cluttered. With an extensive selection of chandeliers available today, it is likely that one of the perfect, all the home games up. When choosing a dining room chandelier, in particular the percentage has increased. The light is still dominated by a table look too small. The best thing to do is measure the width and the length of the table (or diameter for a round table) and these measurements in a mall.As a general rule, the duration of the chandelier is 12 inches shorter (or diameter) than the width of the table.

To ensure a new light are supported in a safe, controlled electrical box ceiling before beginning the installation of the chandelier. When hovering over a table, the chandelier will be aligned with the center of the dining table with a 30 to 33 inch gap between the table top and the bottom of the chandelier. The purpose of the gap is to prevent the heads met.Chandelier for other areas should generally higher than 8 feet are placed on the floor in the middle of the room or foyer for safety and style. If the electrical connection to the ceiling does not work with the center of the dining table, add a heavy decorative hook on the ceiling above the table, and then add a chain around the wiring of electrical connection for the hook.

To purchase in terms of choosing the right lighting, you should reduce WattEvaluation of the bulb a greater number of bulbs are required. A chandelier with three or more light sockets is probably more suited for 40-watt bulbs. Once the lamps are properly selected and installed, the chandelier should emit enough light without being blinding. Dimmers and controls are recommended because they allow adjustment of light intensity, if necessary.

There is always a good idea to clean the chandelier at least once a year to maintain their beauty and splendor. Firstbeing cleaned and must start with the bulbs for at least 10 minutes so that the bulbs are cool. For security reasons, you must clean the chandelier, while the lights are on. It could lead to a burned hand, shock or even worse. When the pieces have to be dismantled, you must do it in sections or draw a picture of how the components fit together. This is attempted, every frustration and confusion at the time, the pieces are together again. Alsoa blanket under the chandelier on each piece, which may begin to fall. Exploring Frank Lloyd Wright in Buffalo and Serenity on Lake Ontario

!±8± Exploring Frank Lloyd Wright in Buffalo and Serenity on Lake Ontario

My theory is a real traveler is able to discover interesting things even in the most unlikely of places. Well, Buffalo probably has not done the "Top Destinations" list for a while ', but I did some research on it and I thought it was time to Buffalo, the closest American city of Toronto, just south of explore Niagara Falls and Fort Erie, across the border.

So my fellow lovers of architecture and Shauna and I went early yesterday morning to2 hours to make the trek to Buffalo. We picked the Fort Erie border and fortunately was not very crowded. The pass was actually quite a pleasant experience, as border guards were in a really good mood and very friendly, pleasant presentation, a good day.

Approaching the city we have removed a wrong turn and headed south on Highway 5 from downtown. But we need to Buffalo on the waterfront, which includes this area in a couple of marinas and see the spectacularsome dilapidated old industrial buildings. We turned around and walked back toward the center. Because the tourist information office was closed on Sunday, we thought we'd be in the Hampton Inn & Suites hotel stop in a couple of tourist brochures and maps. A more pleasant experience: The lady at the front desk was very helpful, gave us several brochures and a printout of how to get to two of the most important architectural legacy in Buffalo:Frank Lloyd Wright's Martin House and his other important Buffalo work Graycliff Mansion.

After the car parked on Delaware Avenue at about 10:30 clock, was the only thing we noticed right away as the streets were empty. There was virtually no traffic at all pedestrian and very few vehicles. We thought it must be too early for the people, and we left in a restaurant called "Flappy" to strengthen us for the brunch the day with a filling. We booked our tourMartin House for 2 to watch, so after breakfast we had about 2 hours to tour the city.

As we left the restaurant we noticed the city had become a little 'more lively, but not much. We parked our car close to Niagara Square and started our exploration on foot. First on the agenda of the Buffalo City Hall, a monumental Art Deco skyscraper was completed in 1931, built in sandstone with intricate details and orange colored ornaments. An immensely impressiveBuilding. We examined all the facade details and friezes, to show the images in relation to agriculture.

We have a small central circle, and covered some very interesting buildings. The red color and decoration of Louis Sullivan's Guaranty Building Detailed really caught our imagination. We passed through St. Paul's Cathedral and past the tram tracks on the main street we found the Palace Square Elicott. The east entrance of the building was actually open so we went inside. ThisBuilding was built in 1896 and designed by Daniel Burnham, one of the most famous architects in Chicago. This building is built around a large courtyard kept covered with a glass ceiling beams decorated block. We have commented on how similar this design one of the most famous buildings in Chicago, the "Rookery" was, and it was not until this morning that I realized that both buildings were created by the same architect.

This is an amazingly impressive building withbeautiful wide staircases and an intricate mosaic of the entire site. Ellicott Square Building of the direction we went to Lafayette Hotel, a handsome red brick and white terra cotta French Renaissance-style building, built in view of the expected influx of visitors at the Pan-American Exposition in 1901. Because of financial difficulties was not established until 1904. From there we checked out, General Electric Tower, a fine white clay coatedStructure since 1912.

The electrical tower is right next to another fascinating building: the Buffalo Savings Bank, a building boom in Buffalo show in the second half of the 19 th Century. In late 1890 - the peak of the golden age of Buffalo - the bank has announced a competition for a major new headquarters. The competition was organized by Green & Wicks, Buffalo has won the leading turn-of-the-century architects. Their design projected stability, security and aspiration.TheCharacteristic signature of the building is the dome of gold leaf.

After the Buffalo Savings Bank we explored the Genesee Building which today the Hyatt Regency Hotel. While exploring the construction of the heavens opened and there was a torrential downpour so we sat in front of the Hyatt and ended up in street scene. We found ourselves in front of Main Street, is now a pedestrian area and is home to Buffalo line of light rail train. One thing we consistently noticedBuffalo was the lack of street-level shops and restaurants. In the center of the city, as a fact that even the most modern office buildings and government non-street retailers. A large part of the modern administrative buildings in Buffalo have rather austere and welcoming atmosphere and some of the newer buildings of the 50s and then a prison almost feel. The resulting shortage street-level windows combined with the totalThe lack of pedestrians (certainly on the weekend) really gives downtown Buffalo a rather disturbing feeling deserted, and the lack of people downtown was our most striking impression of Buffalo. Starting from the street lamps have classic style with flowers in bloom, however, the city seems to have worked to beautify the city.

We started back to the car and crossed the Statler Hotel, which is not really a hotel more, but apparently a building full of lawyersOffices. We got a glimpse into the impressive lobby, the French chandeliers from Century offers 20 / 1. I have some pictures, but the guard stopped me and told me that photography was not allowed. We had an interesting conversation after this, and commented on the long-term economic problems of Buffalo and how he believes that the current mayor had only made things worse. An example of the economic problems of the city is the majestic ballroom of the Hotel Statler was onlyhas recently been reopened after closing in 1957. In addition, a previous owner had tried the building, a food court, creating in the basement and had opened the ground floor, but ran out of money before the food court could be built. Now you have an opening quite intrusive on the ground floor with a view in a basement with no empty shops or restaurants. Our local contact also commented on why downtown Buffalo was so devoid of people, and he told me that allthe locals do their shopping centers in suburban department store, and stories. The economic problems of the city together, apparently a flight to the suburbs, leaving the city's core rather lifeless on the weekend has created.

It 'was really sad to see that a city like Buffalo that such a large number of exceptional architectural heritage, has virtually no street life, retail or shopping in town had. Many shops were boarded up andThe few shops that were there were firmly closed on weekends.

Well, we had to move during our tour of another architectural jewel, Frank Lloyd Wright's Martin House. Darwin Martin was a senior executive with the Larkin Soap Company and his brother-in-law had encouraged Darwin to seek employment Wright in Oak Park, a suburb of Chicago. After working with Wright led him to Buffalo in November 1902 to build a house for his sister, the Barton House, with a size of about 4000 meters, and then to build his main house of 15,000 square meters house in the Prairie style, through a rigorous and consistent use of the plans of the cross, Wright, pillars and brackets, and other principles influenced Prairie House. After many years of neglect, the Martin house is now renovated to restore its original early 1900's true greatness.

Currently the building is empty and a few large photographs illustrate the former furniture and furnishings. It 'veryvisible that this building is used for a long time Martin House Restoration Corporation and has been neglected once again worked hard to show on his 1907 original, authentic, and the degree of rebuilding the pergola and garage, demolition of a previous owner are states. The tour lasted about 90 minutes and was delivered by a teacher very passionate and all the volunteers in the gift shop and the guide is very useful. We also got a glass of water in the 60Kitchen of the House Martin, who will be cut down and carried on through an authentic features such as restructuring.

After the damp heat inside the Martin and Barton Houses we were glad to cool off. We drove through the neighborhood near the historic East Side Park, Delaware Park, a creation of the famous landscape architect Frederick Law Olmstead, who also designed Central Park. The area around Delaware Park and Forest Lawn Cemetery is a beautiful partthe city with beautiful buildings and manicured lawns, and this beauty is most evident on Millionaires Row 'along Delaware Avenue. There was a lot of traffic and street life in this part of Buffalo, the atmosphere was pleasant and the residential areas impressive.

We drove closer to the Niagara River and drove along the Seaway Trail, crossed Grand Iceland and further on the edge of Niagara Falls, NY, right along the Niagara River towards Lewiston. The drive north of NiagaraFort Niagara Falls State Park on Lake Ontario is gorgeous, with beautiful old homes overlooking the Niagara River, huge trees overhanging the two lanes, with well-maintained property on both sides of the road. We stopped for a snack at the gates of the very picturesque town of Lewiston, in a place called Shiloh, which is right next to the river, overlooking a launch site for high-speed boats carrying tourists in the rapids of the Niagara Gorge . We had a nice lunch outside fat, enjoying the breeze (hey, no need to eat healthy every day) and then set our trip to Fort Niagara State Park, admiring the villas and land.

We had decided that the border at the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge crossing, but the building was confusing detours and a local New York State father and son stopped their car when they saw us off the road and stared at the card, try as caused get the point across. She lowered the window andsaid they would take us to the bridge, which they did. We followed them for about 10 minutes through the maze of detour signs until we found the bridge and returned to Canada. We were both very impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the locals.

Back on the Canadian side we drove along the Niagara Parkway and stopped in the beautiful little village of Niagara-on-the-Lake. NOTL calls itself "the most beautiful village in Ontario," and may fit the bill. The village isHome-preserved Victorian homes, overflowing flower baskets, souvenir shops, bars, bed and breakfasts, as well as the famous Shaw Festival, and for many Ontarians, is a popular destination for a weekend fast.

Niagara-on-the-Lake, we drove through the vineyards and orchards to St. Catharines, Port Dalhousie and its water area of entertainment, do not forget to Fresh setback from a street fruit stand of ripe red cherries and nuclear size of apricots buythe tree. About 20 minutes from NOTL, Port Dalhousie is home to a marina and a long pier and numerous outdoor patio restaurants, ice cream parlors, souvenir shops and other entertainment. Hundreds of people marched along the pier, couples, parents with children, dog owners, and people took a very interesting young lady with red hair, whose friend had to dye her poodle a matching-colored-hair hair remaining.

The atmosphere in Port Dalhousie was almost the sameCalifornia coastal towns, with skaters, walkers, beach volleyball, navigators and relaxed pedestrians taking a stroll through the village and the pier. I did not feel like I'm in Ontario. The sun began to set in the sea and was laid before us like an ocean without shores visible on the opposite side. Wanted was a nice warm evening and I felt like a whole week in this place going. But no luck, we had to return to Toronto afterour exciting girls-only trip to Buffalo and the Niagara Peninsula.

We have some fantastic architectural gems to explore the legacy of Frank Lloyd Wright joined, had a nice lunch right next to the fat Niagara River, enjoyed the hospitality of local inhabitants and the availability of New York State, and again in our country, we went up on the shore of Lake Ontario to fresh fruit, frozen yogurt and incredibly relaxing afternoon enjoying the water. It is notmuch better than this ...

Outdoor wall lamps - are What You Want

!±8± Outdoor wall lamps - are What You Want

I was talking to my friend the other day. Her name is Shirley. Shirley is a retired nurse, whose husband died a few years ago. He lives alone in a remote three-bedroom brick ranch a few miles from me. We met about five years ago, when I was here a volunteer work at the local hospital, where Shirley worked.

From time to time we have Shirley for dinner. She loves to cook and she always brings something to the oven for dessert, when we meet. II must admit it's a great cook.

When Shirley came to dinner the other day we were sitting at the table, and have done something that I knew I could help with her. She was explaining how at night when she is home and getting out there, it was difficult for them to see their way around their home.

You see, like Shirley on their lawns and gardens in the night water. He went on to say that irrigation is best after dark for their lawn and gardenbecause the water does not evaporate on the surface as fast as it does in the sunlight. This gives a lawn and gardens to drink more water, as she put it.

What was Shirley was a kind of consultation prior to lighting the exterior of his house during the night. He wanted to be able to see better and not worry about trampling the flowers, and irrigation.

The first thought that came to me was, outside wall lighting. So I asked Shirley if it was the outside lighting on the wallHome now. He said he had some lights outside wall, but over the years, they just stopped working.

So I asked where they worked outside the wall. He said he had one on each side of the head of his garage door. A dirty on the outside wall on the side of his front door and two outside wall along the back wall of his house, where she's Bar-BQ deck.

He said his main concern was on both sides of their house and not so much the frontand rear walls of his house, but that could replace the old wall of exterior lights that are already there and not plotted.

After dinner, my husband and Shirley went in our living room watching TV. I went to do some research on outdoor lighting wall.

My next thoughts were, what kind of lights outdoor wall would go with her light-brown brick house. I went to work. Shirley had found the white plastic windows in their house, so I was committed to a style to go with the flow,as they say.

The first outer wall lights I saw were the lights that were already in the house replaced. For the garage, on both sides of the sectional door, I found the Alexandria Black Energy Star Outdoor Wall lights. This wall lamp has a white surface, beveled curved glass, aluminum and construction of a motion sensor. These lights come on automatically when the driveway with the car. Moreover, these lights will automatically turn on when you walk in front ofin your way.

Later, I took a look at the exterior wall sconce on the wall next to his front door. Here I thought that the traditional real estate White Energy Star Outdoor Wall Light or Richmond Coach White Energy Star Outdoor Wall Light's good to have the choice to choose from. Shirley could choose here, the wall lamp that liked best.

So now I'm Shirley exterior lighting on the back wall of the house thought turned their bar-bq bridge. I came hereChesapeake Wall Lantern with an external white light. This award-winning outdoor wall lamp is made of an aluminum body, painted white, bevelled glass, suitable for wet areas and a pleasant traditional style. Shirley is sure to be pleased with this wall lamp.

Now for the last part of this project, the two side walls of the house Shirley. If you remember, that's where they wanted enough light so that when water their lawns and gardens at night, will not step intheir flower gardens.

Then came to me. Shirley House on the sidewalls, there is currently no outdoor wall lights. In addition, there are no power lines running to the wall to connect any hard-wired wall outside.

The answer to this situation came to me. Here the only solution for the illumination of the surrounding areas outside the walls of their house to solar power is an outdoor wall. That's all you need to do is simply connect the device toExternal walls and let nature do the rest.

I went to work. It did not take long until I found a variety of solar powered lights outside wall. The choice ranges from decorative projector. I thought everyone Shirley really need is to brighten it positioned to the outside walls of their home fixtures high in the middle of these two walls. A solar wall on the left wall and a projector to the right wall of his house.

I found theNight lighting solution to their problem. It was the Solar System Flood Light Double Head. Set this solar-powered projector with two peaks on each of the walls high enough. Purpose shines on a downward angle to the left and right, and this outer wall in the position, how to light night for Shirley.

As my research was over, notebook in hand, I'm sitting on the couch in the living room next to Shirley. I delivered the lighting solutions for outdoor wall, I foundand she was thrilled. I offered to help with the installation after they receive their supplies from the outside wall lighting. This put a smile on his face.

Wired or solar energy, you can install external wall lamps in places never thought possible years ago. Now you want to have the opportunity to light in the darkness and the light around you.
